Like many jurisdictions across the country affected by the recession, North County Transit district (NCTD) in California was seeking ways to address decreased transit ridership. Working with NCTD and its board to create financial incentives for riders, Sharp & Company developed a strategic marketing plan to win back former riders and gain new ones, creating the overarching customer-focused theme “NCTD gives you more” to provide a framework for all future agency, operational, and marketing planning.
A year after the launch of NCTD’s marketing campaign, ridership had increased 21%.
